ARCHISPACE: Exploring the Future of Space Architecture

On March 26th, 2025, the ARCHISPACE event took place at the Università “G. d’Annunzio” in Pescara, bringing together students, researchers, and experts to explore the exciting field of Space Architecture. The lecture, delivered by Giuseppe Calabrese – PhD candidate at INGEO & IRSPS – was part of the Architectural Composition 4A course, under the guidance of Prof. Enzo Calabrese.

The talk delved into the meaning and implications of designing for outer space, highlighting the experimental nature and potential of architectural solutions for extraterrestrial environments. From lunar bases to Martian habitats, students were invited to rethink architecture beyond Earth, in collaboration with international research networks.

The initiative was held in partnership with INGEO (Department of Engineering and Geology), IRSPS (International Research School of Planetary Sciences) and Dd’A (Department of Architecture)

Special thanks to Arch. Giuseppe Calabrese, for his insightful and inspiring lecture, Prof. Enzo Calabrese, for leading the Architectural Composition 4A course and supporting the initiative, Prof. Francesco Salese (Scientific Supervisor) and Prof. Gian Gabriele Ori (Project Coordinator), for their contributions to this interdisciplinary dialogue between space science and architectural innovation.
